ONE FOOT FROM ETERNITY Thanks for listening to my story last Sunday, “One Foot From Eternity.”  It seems that over 1,000 people have viewed it on Facebook, certainly making this one of the most popular sermons to date. Someone asked me. “What happened to the church I spoke about in the story? Is it still open?” Yes! It was finally purchased from Adelaide Dooley’s son for the sum of $25,000 and currently a small group still meets there on Sunday mornings. Like many small towns, Richmondville is struggling to maintain its existence.......

So many responded to the interview last week with my business partner Dave. It was a very moving time for myself as well. So many fond memories. I love what Dave said, “Those were good years…really good.” We all have a story to tell. Each one of us and according to God’s grace we write that story on a daily basis. Dorald has been urging me all week to “tell the rest of the story that you didn’t have time to tell with Dave.” So next Sunday that’s what I will do.......

I love this illustration. It describes our lives in such a simplified way. The jar represents your life, and the golf balls are the most important things. When it rains just right, bubbles are formed in the puddles. If you have never seen this stop by and watch with me in my “Cheektowaga Garage.”   They form best where there is oil from blacktop after a hot day. I was never much of a runner, so with the wisdom of a grandfather I decided we should......

Some of you may not know what a “Cheektowaga Garage” is. It’s a garage with a carpet on the floor (that’s essential), comfortable chairs to sit on, bikes and toys scattered everywhere, and two pink flamingos gracing the outside. I’m good with that, except for the pink flamingos. That’s a story for another time. Almost every morning I sit in my “Cheektowaga Garage” (with Cooper and no flamingos ) enjoying the sunrise. It’s quiet and reminds me of all the activity of the past day. Family is such a key part of......

After 30 years of teaching and preaching you come to know when God is speaking something clearly to you and then to others.  It’s one of the most exhilarating moments in life. Jesus said: John 7:16–19 (NLT) 16 So Jesus told them, “My message is not my own; it comes from God who sent me. 17 Anyone who wants to do the will of God will know whether my teaching is from God or is merely my own. 18 Those who speak for themselves want glory only for themselves, but a person who seeks to......
