This Christmas I gave each of my grandchildren a photo album with pictures that dated back to the birth of their parents. I also included photos of their grandparents and great-grandparents. It was fun to watch the memories unfold on Christmas morning as everything else was set aside to reminisce about, “remember the time?” Memories connect us to our past and become a platform on which we build our future. We make new ones each day. It’s important to know where you came from; it is a testimony that validates your life.......

About 7 years ago I stopped alongside of the road and bought a short needle Christmas tree from a little girl who was selling them. I took it home and was so proud of my deal, and of course happy to help the little girl sell her trees. Now she could buy a Christmas present for her mom and dad. The next morning every needle on the tree was on the ground! Every single needle! It was frozen and my warm wood stove thawed it out, releasing the needles. I bought another......
