It is Crossroads’ desire to be an active member of our community and share God’s love with everyone. We provide various opportunities to fellowship with people both inside and outside of our church by hosting family friendly gatherings and partnering with other churches, ministries and organizations to reach out into our neighborhoods. Below are a few of our larger outreach events:
Since our first successful showing of Despicable Me 2 in 2014, Crossroads decided to make our President’s Day Family Movie at The Aurora Theatre an annual event. These free admission movies have given the community an opportunity to learn about our ministries, upcoming events and most importantly highlighting the warm and authentic hospitality we embody at Crossroads. Watch for news on our next movie event coming in October!
VBS at Crossroads is a 5-day program in August for kids entering grades K-6. It is a theme-based program that ties all of the rotation areas together to learn about the Bible and God’s Word. VBS is one of the most exciting outreach ministries that Crossroads’ hosts. Not only does it touch the lives of the 100+ children that attend each year, it also touches the 70+ volunteers that help! Watch for news about our 2017 VBS program coming August 14-18!
The Fall Harvest Festival is a fun community-wide event that Crossroads’ hosts on the last Friday in October and is open to all children and adults. Each year we have games, crafts, face painting, souvenir photos, a balloon artist, shelter animals for adoption, a baked goods and soup/chili contest, food and of course, lots of candy! This is a free event and will be held this year on October 27th.
In December Crossroads partners with Prince of Peace Church in Buffalo to assist their families with Christmas gifts. Crossroads has the opportunity to help in two ways; we can purchase gift cards that will be given to a family in a need or we can go to Prince of Peace one designated Sunday in December with other Crossroads members and take a family Christmas shopping for their children.
