SPRING LIFE GROUPS

making big church small …

WHAT ARE LIFE GROUPS

Life Groups (or small groups) can be made up of eight to twelve individuals (sometimes larger) who gather to study God’s Word and discuss the issues and challenges of life that we all face. People grow best when they are connected in healthy small groups. We were never intended to do life alone, but were created for relationships. Crossroads Life Groups provide an atmosphere of learning about God while getting to know others. We grow in the knowledge of Jesus and encourage each other to live it out. Below is a list of our upcoming Life Groups.

HOW TO JOIN A LIFE GROUP

To sign up for a Spring Life Group, you can register below, on our Events page or the Sunday morning Communication Card that can be found in our bulletin.

Sundays

Named: The Prophets – God’s prophets are his voice to the people; men who delivered difficult messages to corrupted kings, oppressive leadership, close friends, and their own people about drought, destruction, and the removal of God’s hand. They also were the voice of God’s compassion, care, and protection when God’s people were focused on him. The Named series tells the story of people from Scripture through a new lens exploring the mystery of faith with a literary touch. Each series introduces 6 different characters in the Bible unpacking one every week. Become acquainted with the people God identified in a story as particular as you. In this 6-week study that begins on Sunday morning April 23rd, we’ll learn more about the Prophets Elijah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel and Zachariah.

The Broken Way (Women’s Study) – This 6-week women’s study examines how to live abundantly and joyfully in the midst of the brokenness in our lives. Ann Voskamp exposes her own painful past, and present trials. She then challenges us to be real with ourselves, vulnerable with each other, and pressed into Jesus to receive His abundant Grace. This will allow us to generously pour into others, while we are experiencing the darkest moments of our lives. Basically, the idea is not to avoid or deny brokenness, as our culture teaches, but embrace it, and bless others through it. Come ready to be transformed, and become an agent of Grace to a broken world.

Dealing with Offense – There are many opportunities in life for you to get offended. People say things or do things that can cause you to get offended every day. It can happen at work, at home, at school, with your friends, your family – the list is endless. When you see certain people do you get angry or resentful? Are you constantly rehearsing past hurts? Do you fight thoughts of suspicion and distrust? Many times we live with offenses for years and don’t even realize the negative impact they have on our lives. Offenses are traps set by Satan to pull you into petty arguments and ugly situations, very often with long term effects in our lives. God wants us, as believers, to be fully aware of what Satan is up to and be able to live free from the effects of offense. In this 4-week DVD study by Joyce Meyer, we’ll learn how to recognize and resist offense and walk in freedom and love.
